About the Author
Kelli Dolan is currently a 3rd-grade teacher at Bragg School in Chester, New Jersey where she has taught for 15 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Masters in Special Education degree from Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey. She lives in Flanders, New Jersey with her husband Kevin and their two children, Patrick and Emily.

Shephali Chokshi-Fox has been investigating student thinking and problem solving for over two decades. She is fascinated by the complexity and variety of strategies students use in solving rigorous, open-ended story problems. Her role as a K–6 Math Coach allows her the opportunity to understand the interaction between teaching and learning. She provides Professional Development workshops and courses to districts across Massachusetts, has presented at national and regional conferences, and continues to learn about student thinking. Shephali enjoys running, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends, many of whose names are incorporated in this resource.

Excellent Overview of ES&H

I found this book to be an excellent review of the field of environmental health and safety. It is balanced between the sometimes separate fields of environmental health and occupational health and safety. The book manages to cover both areas very well. Of the books I have read and used, this is probably the best combined coverage of the entire ES&H field. A wealth of helpful examples are included so the reader can adapt them for their own needs. Definitely a worthwhile book for professionals and students dealing with these issues to own.

Awesome

Melissa does an awesome job with this part of the story! The emotions filling me while reading this kept me glued to the pages!

Anna is the same strong, stubborn, hard-headed, outgoing, confident, beautiful, but slightly insecure woman. I still love her and want her as a friend! The connection with her is just made stronger in this portion of her story.

At the end of the last book I found myself a little disappointed and mad at Bentley. But he has won his way back into my heart in this segment of their relationship. I love his confident yet insecure approach to the relationship and always his dirty talking bad boy ways!

I absolutely love Lo and even Andrea has brought herself up in my opinion! Can't wait to start the next part.

Wow..just Wow and just when you think you are falling for Bentley Reed..bam he makes you wanna throat punch him. However he does redeem himself, as the fabulous Melissa Toppen puts it. "He can't be perfect all the time."

Anna is trying to open up and accept the feelings that she is feeling for Bentley.

Bentley is head over heels in love with Anna A.K.A. Logan. One night when he thinks she is going behind his back for information could change things for Bentley and Anna.
This book makes you feel all the emotions. Happy, Sadness, you will cry laugh and wanna throw your kindle. Very well written. You will love You and I Together.

Parts I and II focus on the main theoretical and statistical issues in cross-cultural analysis using Hofstede's approach and the different research methods now associated with it. Part II consists of presentations of all well-known (and some lesser known) large-scale cross-cultural studies since Hofstede's work that have explained cross-cultural variation in terms of dimensional models. Part III summarizes the main conclusions to be drawn from the presentations in Part II and l explains how the proposed models have contributed to our practical understanding of cross-cultural diversity.

Brilliant explanation of the science behind the similarities and differences in culture

In this book, Minkov comprehensively summarises and explains research on culture. His style is academic, but easy to read. He breaks down concepts and uses examples which make the most complex science comprehensible to a lay person. If you work cross-culturally or have to use cross-cultural psychological studies in your work, you need to read this book to understand what the studies are actually saying (not what is commonly reported) and their pitfalls. As psychiatry has particular meanings for it's words which have been co-opted and distorted by common use (schizophrenia for example) so has 'culturology'. Minkov makes this clear and puts the proper meanings in their place in a way which is clear and easy to understand.

This book focuses a lot on statistical techniques for analyzing ecological level data in cross cultural research. If that is what you want, then by all means get it because it will be hard to find a better book. It also presents cultural dimensions by many authors of which Minkov finds many to be useful for analysis.

If you instead want to get well rounded descriptions of culture I would recommend Hofstede's 2001 "Culture's consequences," Minkov's "Cultural Differences in a Globalizing World" and then earlier work by Parsons and Shills and Levinson and Inkeles. Of course "Cross Cultural Analysis" has more recent research in it than any of these other books.

This comes across as a good state-of-the-discipline introduction and even mid-level review.
He takes the work of Hofstede further, particularly with respect to the World Values Survey.

About the Author
John Gierach is the great sage of American fly fishing, an idiosyncratic philosopher whose commentaries on
angling are explorations of the meaning of life. He is also one of the most widely-read angling writers in
the country, mainly through his monthly columns in Fly Rod & Reel. But his great books—Trout Bum,
Standing in a River Waving a Stick, and Sex, Death and Fly Fishing, among others—continue to attract
new and younger readers. For many fly fishers, he is the voice of their sport. He lives in Lyons, Colorado.

The Re-Release of Fishing Bamboo

While I was hoping that the newly released version of John Gierach's original classic had been revised, I was not disappointed when I read my new copy. The first edition was an outstanding insight into the "cane mystic" and getting a new copy simply gave me a good excuse to re-read it and find out what I'd missed the first time. If you have the original, you don't need the reissue, but if you haven't read it in a while, you may have forgotten how good it was in the first place. Besides, most great literature comes out in a new package from time to time; why should John Gierach's work be excluded?

Classic Gierach

John writes in his unique easy going way and shares why he likes bamboo rods. He can be technical when describing rods but much of the book is written in the classic Gierach easy going way of one fly fisherman to another. He focuses on the way the good rods cast and fight fish.

Anyone looking for a well grounded approach to the subject of bamboo rods, the history and the men who aka build them will enjoy this book. John G "claims he is not an expert.....AJ Foyt may not be a mechanic as well....but like AJ, John knows his passion in depth. John G has written about his true passion and it shows! A Great Book.
